the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes 'awww!'

Tuesday, January 10

is it just me, or

has life seemed unusually trying lately? i could just be in one of my moods, but i don't think so. here are some of the possible reasons why i've not felt like leaving my couch or the bottle lately:

1.) my grandmother going to the ER thrice within a 2-week span

2.) just having finished reading fifty, one more time, fifty 7-10 page research papers, of which only about 15 were stellar and interesting. my brain is mush.

3.) not seeing my husband much in the last month or so, as he now works the night shift again

4.) feeling like lately, any time i have even just one drink i lose my mind and can't seem to remember things (which, trust me, is quite unusual, and NO i'm not pregnant)

5.) being asked five times in the last week if i'm pregnant...have i gained that much weight? jesus, people!

6.) having spent all last week being sick, my brain draining out through my nose, and still not quite feeling 100%

7.) my daughter's sudden burst of energy, and that combined with #3 and the fact that i've been on soren duty almost non-stop lately makes for one crazy elizabeth

8.) the fact that, for the last 5 weekends in a row, i haven't had ONE to myself (myself being my family, where we could just spend all weekend in our pajamas)

happily, i am off to denver (again) this weekend to celebrate my sister's 21st. my husband might not be able to go, as his truck just took a crap (make that reason #9) and he has to stay home and spend time and money fixing it, but the rest of my family will be up for the occasion, and hopefully i'll see some of you, as well.

    e. it is the nature of the universe in my humble opinion to fuck with us in the winter months. that is what i've come to find, i don't know if it is just that things are harder or if i just think things are harder and can't deal with them, i don't know, its the ebb and flow of my crazy brain and i'm glad to hear that you have a crazy one too, although, really, i already knew that. : ) i miss you.

    i forgot to say something about #5 on the list. and that is, people should never ever ask a woman if she is preggers, even if she has the fattest belly you have ever seen and looks like she is about to blow up like Violet Beauregarde, don't do it folks. for the love of god.

    and p.p.s.
    i don't really hate babies, and i especially don't hate soren, and i'm not really into punching things.ESPECIALLY babies. I really just draw the line at old ladies. Kidding! :)

    YOU SENT US A LETTER?! no, we haven't received it. but now i'm really excited. is it a letter telling us you're coming to visit again this february? maybe justin won't get sick this time! i hope you will come again soon, though, but keep in mind summer is better and we will do more and have more fun.

    yeah, that sucked too. i promise you won't get sick again. we're all much healthier here, and we don't drink our water.
