greetings from nederlanden
our visit to the land of straw-topped houses and legal weed has come to an end. after a long and dreary flight across the atlantic, we arrived safe and sound and a bit deprived of sleep. visiting our friend chris has been nice, and i think J likes it here afterall. he was a bit surprised at how tiny the cars can be! and of course we've been drinking good beer, eating real cheese, and taking in the scenery. it's been mostly rainy and overcast, but that is a nice change from the hot weather we left at home. today we take off for the real adventure: ireland. we won't have a guide there to show us the sights, only our handy lonely planet and a road map. should be interesting! we'll probably do more of the same there: beer and food, and sleep. we both slept in until 12.30 yesterday and cannot remember the last time we did that! (for me it's probably been more recent, as i'm a recovering non-morning person, but for J i'm sure it's been years.) speaking of no sleep, we are missing little soren, who no doubt is having a great time with grandparents and is being spoiled to no end. it's nice to be adults again, though.
more later.
more later.
