the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes 'awww!'

what i'm going to miss

packing sucks, especially when you have to account for several different climates. amsterdam will be sunny and warm; dublin will be cold-ish and rainy; and, no doubt, nyc will be scorching. how many shorts do i take? should i take nice clothes? do i need extra underwear? i guess that isn't really the stuff that gets me; my packing problems come with the small stuff. travel shampoo vs. the full bottle; one book vs. two; a long, funny book vs. a short, deep novel (you know if you take one too short you'll finish it, whereas if you have the long one you'll barely crack it open). so i'll probably be up all night putting the finishing touches on my packing, not to mention i have a little girl's bag to prepare, as well.
