Are you at all concerned about the possibility of eating cloned meat and dairy products without knowing you are consuming them? Read this:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced last month that the agency will likely approve the sale of cloned foods this year. FDA’s action flies in the face of widespread scientific concern about the risks of food from clones, and ignores the animal cruelty and troubling ethical concerns that the cloning process brings. What's worse, FDA indicates that it will not require labeling on cloned food, so consumers will have no way to avoid these experimental foods.
But you can do something about this!
Go to http://www.centerforfoodsafety.org/index.cfm and under Urgent Actions you can take a minute to email letters to your senate and representatives and the FDA to express your concern. It really doesn't take long, they have pre-written letters you can approve and send along.
I think this is a really good issue to take action on and if you feel so inclined, join me in fighting this preposterous proposal in (lack of) food safety!
