a glimpse into my future

this is funny:
i'm sitting here at the computer, trying to get some work done, and soren is standing behind me in the chair "doing my hair" and the baby is kicking away in my belly. i already feel like a jungle gym! is this a glimpse of things to come? the baby is probably really excited to hear soren's voice and might also be getting a little high on whatever relaxing and mellow feelings that are going through my body as a result of having my hair done. i could seriously go to sleep right now, and i might, considering soren woke up at a lovely 5am this morning. seriously, 5am? not cool. so it's about her nap time and i will definitely be squeezing one in myself, too.

it's nice to be home. our trip to florida was lovely--i do enjoy seeing my family, and i got a little (definitely not enough) time in with my buddy and his wife, but boy was i tired! travelling with soren without dad just isn't my cup of tea these days, and i doubt it'll be happening anymore for a while. i certainly won't be travelling alone with two! my family was there, which was helpful, but definitely not quite the same. it doesn't help, either, that soren's hit this new level of energy and requires much more stimulation than before. i'm just having a tough time keeping up with her! so i can happily say we're home for a while; there will be a quick jaunt down to albuquerque to see a friend, but she has a daughter soren's age so they will have a good time and it might actually be a little break. but that is IT! april is going to be here soon, and that means j will be done with the night shift and out of the guest bedroom, which i can start working on to make into our little boy's room. i already found the crib bedding and room decor, it's the cutest fish tie-dye print from pottery barn and i LOVE it. it should be on its way here, though, there isn't much i can do with it quite yet.

i'm babbling. probably because i've crossed over into a state of euphoria...if you need to rent out my kid to come play with your hair, we can certainly negotiate a price.

    We were so excited to see you and hope that we can hang out more soon. The limited time was a bummer, but I am greatful for it. I miss you and hope that all is well. Amanda had her baby on Tuesday and Becca is in labor as I type this. Tis the season for babies...
