i am vibrating at a very high frequency

as someone who refuses to pay for tv, i feel a bit ricoculus admitting that there are some tv shows in which i must indulge. we do have an antenna that's fickle about picking up abc, but that is the only channel we sometimes receive. i don't have a tv for a reason: there is nothing but useless crap on the boob tube that only serves as a distraction from spending quality time with my family. but, i must admit, i do go home on wednesdays eager for my tv to pick up abc so i can watch lost. and i actually get pissed if it doesn't come in. how's that for hypocrisy? maybe lost doesn't portray quite the demise of morality as others do; take, for instance, desperate housebitches (as my husband and i call them). there's a show that exudes decadence: glorification of affairs and adultery, murder, dishonesty, stealing, cheating--i'm pretty sure all those commandments from days of yore have been broken all within an hour's time (minus, of course, commercial time). but does that stop me? I LOVE THAT SHOW!

i borrowed the oc: season 2 from one of my students last week. i borrowed the first season from her last year, and as we do not have the fortune of receiving fox, i've had to wait patiently for that one. i was watching disc 1 last night when a pinback song came on in the background, and a really good one at that. i felt such ambivalence when i wanted to be excited for hearing one of my favorite bands play a kick-ass song on a show i enjoy and then realized how lame it was that they sold out and stooped to that level. but i guess i'm no different. i'll probably even buy the soundtrack. god, i'm such a loser. but, i'm still curious, will ryan and marissa EVER get it together?

    i know, i know. the point i was poorly trying to make is how it has sucked me in against my will. i'm not sitting at home whipping myself about watching tv. i just think it's funny how much i hate it and love it at the same time. sheesh!

    see, satan, i don't get fox, only abc when my tv decides to cooperate. maybe you could help me out in that endeavor? after all, i did sell my soul to you a while back. i think that entitles me at least to free tv with good reception.
