rockin' out
this morning when i was driving to work it was snowing. it was beautiful. it didn't look like the snow was actually falling to the ground, but rather like it was suspended in the air, just hanging there, like still bugs. even though i am DEATHLY sick of snow this year and very ready for sunshine and new growth, the 5 minutes of suspended snow made my day.
that, and something else that was also going on on my way to work: my daughter was rockin' out to the rapture and whatever else was playing on my ipod. she was moving her head to the beat and had a big smile on her face. she loves music, and that makes me happy. she started dancing at quite an early age; she actually shakes her booty. she has a keen ear for rhythm. she sings, too, which floors me it's so cute. i have a confession to make: i absolutely love being a mom. i would never have guess it; i had plans, ya know. plans to live in europe, to get my doctorate, to travel, to do lots of other things besides becoming responsible for another life. but really, i couldn't have chosen a better path for myself. did i choose it? i think it chose me. and i'm glad it did.

I never thought you'd be the type, but it sounds like you are having a blast. I hope that what I need to do will find me soon.
